Horse Feathers & After School Special

In 2026, Horse Feathers’ debut album, Words Are Dead, celebrates its 20th anniversary. Kill Rock Stars is set to release a deluxe reissue that will be completely remastered and pressed on an exclusive vinyl color. It will include a replica of their original six-song demo CD in the package, along with a deluxe foil-stamped LP jacket.

To support the release, Horse Feathers’ current ensemble of Justin Ringle (guitar, vocals, banjo), Nathan Crockett (violin, saw), Halli Anderson of River Whyless (violin, vocals), Kati Claborn of Blind Pilot (banjo, vocals, clarinet), and Luke Ydstie also of Blind Pilot (bass, cello, vocals) faithfully recreate the mood of the original release with taut dynamics and sensitive arrangements.

Opening local fav After School Special formed as an outgrowth of the improvisational collective Swawm Pass. When members began composing actual songs together in the potent hours between the end of work and dinner time, a singular style emerged, informed by the band’s influences of psychedelic rock, art-pop, and avant-jazz.

A Screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Sunday Sept. 13th

Doors open at 6pm and screening begins at 7pm

Probably the oddest, most off-the-wall cult film ever made, this kinky rock’n’roll science fiction horror satire is everybody’s favourite midnight show. A young couple stumbles into a castle inhabited by weirdos from the planet Transylvania including Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry) a transvestite Frankenstein in rhinestone heels. A marvelous musical spoof which urges, “Give yourself over to absolute pleasure.”

$10 ticket only advanced at the door $15

Participation kit ticket also available for $5 extra

Food available from MC Taco Bus and Mountain Jim’s Candy

*advanced ticket sales end 1 hour before doors open*

We’re Brian & Corrine-

Artists, event organizers and owners of Churchill School

We are so thankful for all of the support this project has received from the community, our friends and family. It’s hard to believe how much we have accomplished here at Churchill School since 2018 with the help of the community, friends, family, volunteer groups and complete strangers.

We’re so glad you found us and hope you come see us here soon. Go to our Events page for more info on shows in the concert venue here at Churchill School. Check out our Lodging page if you’re looking of an “old school” place to stay in Baker City or click on the “Learn More” to read about us and the process of restoring this 1925 schoolhouse.
